- Responsibility for the organisation and control of the transport resources ensuring the delivery of a high quality and cost efficient service
- Management of the scheduling and planning of the transport operation, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and services levels met
- Budget/Cost Management
- Compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time legislation, operator licensing,
- Health & Safety and quality
- Ensure effective communication processes are established and maintained for both external/internal customers
- Vendor relationship Management
- Preparation of KPI's
- Operational continuous improvement
- Fleet Management and maintenance
- Flexibility to work shift patterns as necessary
- Management of multi type vehicle usage and multi-customer environment
- Good understanding of Supply Chain Management
- Experience of a Transport Management & Scheduling System
Preference will be accorded to candidates with successful track records in large, profit-oriented cement companies, preferably from ACC (Associated Cement Company), Lafarge, Holcim, etc. It is best that applicants for the above posting be relatively young in age with proven excellence in their work experience. They must be open-minded and be able to cope with leading employees of varied nationalities. Must be technology oriented in their respective fields with ample knowledge in the use and exploitation of modern, up to date computer systems and applications.
