Engineering Manager job in Cement Plant in Sudan, Africa is being offered by a very special client of ours.

We have been retained by a leading Global scale Cement company in Sudan, Africa.

Directs and supervises the activities of Engineering Department to provide timely and efficient maintenance of mechanical, electrical, electronic and civil components of assigned plant equipment and machinery. Ensures the provision of various utility services such as, Electricity, water supply, sweet gas fuel, air-conditioning to plant and housing area and the maintenance of the plant installations and machinery for such utility services.
Preference will be accorded to candidates with successful track records in large, profit-oriented cement companies (preferably from Lafarge, Gujarat Ambuja, etc).
It is best that applicants for the above posting be relatively young in age with proven excellence in their work experience.
They must be open-minded and be able to cope with leading employees of varied nationalities.
Must be technology oriented in their respective fields with ample knowledge in the use and exploitation of modern, up to date computer systems and applications.

a) Plans, directs and supervises the activities of personnel assigned to Engineering Department performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Department Head level as established by management.

b) Develops, reviews and recommends policies and procedures related to Engineering Department, such as method of work assignments and usage of spare parts, materials and equipments, to ensure the proper and effective functioning of the Department. Includes the proper administration of approved Policies and procedures and ensures their adherence with in the Department.

c) Directs the formulation of, reviews and recommends to Plant Manager, implementation of maintenance plans and method covering the preventive maintenance of all plant equipments and machinery assigned for maintenance, Ensure the effective repair, inspection and utilization of manpower and materials, cost and budget controls, etc.

d) Receives and Reviews comprehensive and periodical reports on the performance standards of assigned Divisions, identifies problem areas, and directs assigned personnel on means and methods of improving their respective efficiency and productivity, Submit to plant Manager periodical reports outlining the Department’s performance and plans.

e) Designs and establishes systems for the Department to prepare exception reports for personnel and for plant equipment and machinery so that nonstandard performance and failure are identified that corrective actions and measures are taken whenever necessary.

f) Ensure that Engineering Department is staffed with competent personnel and that key personnel are continuously trained and developed to provid continuity and stability within assigned Department. Recommends/approves the selection, employment, promotion or termination of personnel in Engineering Department.

g) Coordinate with materials Department for the timely order and receipt of spare parts and equipments for the performance of maintenance work on electrical and electronic components and plant equipments and machinery under his purview. Ensures that sufficient stocks and spare parts are maintained for the equipment assigned for the maintenance by Engineering Department and especially for parts that may be discontinued to be manufactured by suppliers.

h) Scrutinizes, reviews and approves material requisitions prepared by assigned personnel. Coordinates with Manager, Materials Department for expedient supply of materials required by the Department.

i) Directs the operation and maintenance of all utility plans at assigned Company locations. The utility plants include a power station, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plants, a gas reduction station and instruments and service air compressor stations.

j) Coordinates with respective operating departments and other maintenance groups for timely performance of assigned maintenance jobs so that disruptions in operations due to maintenance purposes are minimized.

k) Provides technical advice and guidance to subordinates and /or other organizations on any engineering matters, as and when required.

l) Coordinates with concerned companies/personnel on matters related to power and gas supplies, as and when required.

m) Coordinates with various suppliers of Plant equipment and machinery, at request of Materials Supply Department, on technical matters related to maintenance and supply of spare parts.

n) Performs other miscellaneous related duties as directed by Plant Manager.
