Incumbent is the senior operating officer for Plant operations organizations and is accountable to the General Manager for all matters related to Production, Quality & Process Control, Maintenance, and Safety. Incumbent implements policies and carries out plans and programs for the assigned organizations to meet the Company's goals and objectives. Plans, directs and coordinates all technical operations in accordance with Company Policies at optimum cost to achieve Company’s objectives and to ensure loss prevention of Company property.
Preference will be accorded to candidates with successful track records in large, profit-oriented cement companies (preferably from ACC,Lafarge, Holcim, Ambuja,etc).
It is best that applicants for the above posting be relatively young in age with proven excellence in their work experience.
They must be open-minded and be able to cope with leading employees of varied nationalities. Must be technology oriented in their respective fields with ample knowledge in the use and exploitation of modern, up to date computer systems and applications.

| Nature of Job : |
a) Directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of Production Department, Engineering Department, Quality & Process Control Department, and Safety Section to ensure their performance is consistent with established policies and to achieve the Company's goals and objectives for Plant operations organizations. Performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Plant Manager level as approved by the General Manager
b) Recommends to the General Manager long range objectives, plans and programs for Plant operations organizations. Ensures that such objectives, plans and programs are consistent with the Company's overall objectives. Follows up on the execution of approved plans and programs for Plant operations organizations and keeps the General Manager updated on the status achieved in important plans and programs.
c) Recommends/Develops programs for Plant Operations’ improvement and coordinates with the General Manager in integrating these with the Company’s overall objectives to maximize Plant productivity.
d) Ensures that Plant operations organizations are staffed with competent personnel and that key personnel are continuously trained and developed to provide continuity and stability within assigned organizations. Recommends the selection, employment, promotion or termination of key personnel in Plant operations organizations.
e) Recommends to the General Manager performance standards for key areas of operation within assigned organizations. Such areas include but are not limited to production levels, training and development of personnel, operating efficiency of assigned organizations, etc. Counsels and guides assigned Department and Division Heads in improving their operational efficiency to achieve the approved performance standards for their respective areas of responsibility. Systematically analyses the effectiveness of all technical operations to ensure corrective actions are taken when required.
f) Appraises the General Manager on Plant operations organizations in relation to approved annual plans and programs. Recommends changes in and/or deviations from such plans and programs whenever deemed necessary and provides detailed justifications for requested changes.
g) Provides advice and guidelines to General Manager on key matters and/or areas of concern related to Plant operations organizations at any time that such items are to be discussed and/or negotiated with outside parties. Participates in such discussions and/or negotiations when directed by the General Manager.
h) Reviews and analyses periodic production reports and initiates corrective actions so as to ensure marketing demands are met as necessary. Initiates programs for quality improvement, reduction in pollution levels and reductions in maintenance cost. Monitors operating conditions by having regular meetings with Department/Division heads.
i) Directs the preparation of technical budgets and related capital expenditure requests and coordinates with Contracts and Purchasing Review Committee.
j) Directs Safety Engineer to develop appropriate measures to assist respective Plant organizations to prevent damage to employees and/or loss of Company property due to fire or accidents. Reviews Safety Policy and Procedures Manual designed to achieve Company’s safety related goals. Reviews reports related to accidents and ensures that corrective steps are taken to prevent recurrence. Monitors and ensures the effective implementation of a comprehensive fire prevention and control program.
k) Ensures that all funds, physical assets and other property assigned to Plant operations organizations are properly safeguarded, maintained and administered. Implements corrective actions whenever any infractions take place and provides guidelines on how to avoid potential future infractions.
l) Discusses and exchanges non-classified information related to Plant operations organizations with other cement companies both within the Kingdom and outside for the purpose of implementing improvements and increasing efficiency of assigned organizations.
m) Ensures that standards for community services provided by Plant Operations Organizations such as accommodation maintenance, provision of utilities are met.
n) Coordinates with Deputy General Manager for Administration & Commercial Affairs for administrative matters such as personnel, accommodation, accounts, medical and canteen services. Coordinates with Deputy General Manager for Administration & Commercial Affairs for effective implementation of policies and procedures.
o) Participates in discussions and/or negotiations with suppliers of important spare parts required for assigned Plant equipment and machinery and with service contractors for provision of specialized maintenance jobs in assigned areas.
p) Participates as Member of various established Committees as designated by the General Manager.
q) Performs other miscellaneous duties related to Plant operations organizations as required or directed by General Manager.
