We have been retained by a leading Global scale Cement company in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia having two manufacturing plants located 100 km from King Abdul Aziz Port at Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Preference will be accorded to candidates with successful track records in large, profit-oriented cement companies (preferably from Associated Cement Company (ACC), Gujarat Ambuja Cement, Lafarge, Holcim, Grasim Cement etc).
It is best that applicants for the above posting be relatively young in age with proven excellence in their work experience.
They must be open-minded and be able to cope with leading employees of varied nationalities.
Must be technology oriented in their respective fields with ample knowledge in the use and exploitation of modern, up to date computer systems and applications.

Directs and supervises the activities of Engineering Department to provide timely and efficient maintenance of mechanical, electrical, electronic and civil components of assigned plant equipment and machinery. Ensures the provision of various utility services such as, electricity, water supply, sweet gas fuel, airconditioning to Plant and housing area and the maintenance of the plant installations and machinery for such utility services.

a) Plans, directs and supervises the activities of personnel assigned to Engineering Department. Performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Department Head level as established by management.

b) Develops, reviews and recommends policies and procedures related to Engineering Department, such as methods of work assignments and usage of spare parts, materials and equipment, to ensure the proper and effective functioning of the Department. Includes the proper administration of approved policies and procedures and ensures their adherence within the Department.

c) Directs the formulation of, reviews and recommends to Plant Manager, implementation of maintenance plans and methods covering the preventive maintenance of all plant equipment and machinery assigned for maintenance. Ensures the efficient repair, inspection and utilization of manpower and materials, cost and budget controls, etc.

d) Receives and reviews comprehensive and periodic reports on the performance standards of assigned Divisions, identifies problem areas, and directs assigned personnel on means and methods of improving their respective efficiency and productivity. Submits to Plant Manager periodic reports outlining the Department's performance and plans.

e) Designs and establishes systems for the Department to prepare exception reports for personnel and for plant equipment and machinery so that nonstandard performance and failures are identified and that corrective actions and measures are taken whenever necessary.

f) Ensures that Engineering Department is staffed with competent personnel and that key personnel are continuously trained and developed to provide continuity and stability within assigned Department. Recommends/approves the selection, employment, promotion or termination of personnel in Engineering Department.

Has regular contacts with various Department and Division Heads responsible for plant operations for coordinating maintenance jobs.

Occasional contacts with suppliers.

Regular contacts with service personnel of specialized maintenance contractors.

Reports to Plant Manager, Hofuf or Ain Dar Plant Operations.Works under broad directives, policies and professional standards.

Work accomplishments are subject to review by Plant Manager, Hofuf or Ain Dar Plant Operations.

Confers with Hofuf or Ain Dar Plant Manager on matters of importance related to Engineering Department.

Supervises:

1 Chief Engineer, Mechanical Division plus subordinates

1 Chief Engineer, Electrical Division plus subordinates.

1 Chief Engineer, Electronics Division plus subordinates.

1 Chief Engineer, Utilities Division plus subordinates.

1 Engineer, Civil Section plus subordinates

Moderate physical effort such as standing and walking during approximately 50% of work time.

50% of work time exposed to prevailing weather conditions while inspecting jobsites. 50% of work time in A/C environment.

a) Completion of University Education in Mechanical Engineering.

b) 12 years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant, preferably a cement plant, of which at least 5 years in a senior supervisory, preferably a managerial, position.

c) Fluency in English.
