Requirements : |
Chief Engineer, Utilities Division will be placed in charge of one of our client's two cement plants(The Hofuf Plant).
Preference will be accorded to candidates with successful track records in large, profit-oriented cement companies (preferably from Associated Cement Company (ACC), Gujarat Ambuja Cement, Grassim Cement etc). It is best that applicants for the above posting be relatively young in age with proven excellence in their work experience. They must be open-minded and be able to cope with leading employees of varied nationalities. Must be technology oriented in their respective fields with ample knowledge in the use and exploitation of modern, up to date computer systems and applications.

| Basic Function : |
Incumbent is primarily responsible to Manager, Engineering Department for the effective operation and maintenance of a power station consisting gas turbine/s and power generator/s, water treatment plant/s, sewage treatment plant/s and gas reduction station/s. |
| Duties Performed : |
a) Directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of personnel assigned to Utilities Division. Performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Division Head level as established by management.
b) Recommends policies and procedures to Department Manager related to the efficient operation and maintenance of power station, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plants, and gas reduction station to ensure the proper and effective functioning of the Division. Includes the proper administration of approved policies and procedures and ensuring their adherence within the Division.
c) Develops and recommends to Department Manager operation and maintenance plans for the Division covering proposed utilization of Company and SCECO generated power, proposed operations and preventive maintenance schedules for assigned utility plants, inspection and utilization of manpower and materials, cost and budget controls, etc.
d) Receives and reviews comprehensive reports from Section Engineers and Unit Foreman, identifies problem areas and directs subordinates on means and methods of improving their respective productivity and efficiency. Submits to Department Manager periodic reports outlining the Division's performance in relation to approved plans and programs.
e) Designs and establishes control systems for Operators, Foremen and Utilities Engineer assigned to power station and water treatment plant operations, so that effective actions may be taken at any time during day or night in emergency situations. Such control systems will include complete provisions for situations whereby Operator may be authorized to shut down any of the gas turbines/ generators and switch to SCECO power during emergencies.

Frequent contacts with Division Heads and other senior personnel within the Company.
Periodic contacts with specialist maintenance contractors for gas station and water treatment plant.

| Independence of Operation : |
Reports to Manager, Engineering Department.
Works according to general policies and specialized professional standards.
Work is subject to general review of Department Manager.

Supervises:
1 Foreman, Utilities Operations Unit plus 13 subordinates.

| Physical Effort : |
Job requires significant amount of walking and standing while inspecting and checking assigned operations (60 to 70% of work time).

| Work Environment : |
Exposed to prevailing weather conditions, high noise level and nonA/C environment for 60 to 70% of work time. Remainder of work time in A/C environment.
|
| Minimum Requirements : |
a) Completion of University Education in Electrical Engineering.
b) 8 years experience in power station operations and maintenance of which at least 3 years in a senior supervisory position.
c) Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
