Civil Engineer (Extension Project):: MEPA has been retained by a leading Global scale Cement company in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia having two manufacturing plants located 100 km from King Abdul Aziz Port at Dammam, Saudi Arabia to identify a Civil Engineer (Extension Project).

| Basic Function : |
Supervises and participates in inspection of all civil/structural works carried out by contractors to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, time schedules and other regulations.

| Duties Performed: |
a) Leads the assigned inspection supervisor(s) in inspection and monitoring of all civil/structural construction activities at assigned sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and technical specifications.
b) Ensures the efficient utilization of assigned inspection supervisor(s) to perform the required inspection works.
c) Reviews and interprets plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, material proposals, construction methods and erection procedures pertaining to civil/structural works at assigned sites to ensure compliance to contract requirements, building codes and safety regulations. Submits recommendations to his supervisor.
d) Reviews and verifies civil/structural work measurement sheets related to assigned sites.
e) Reviews work progress at assigned sites and ensures compliance to established time schedules. Reports delays to his supervisor.
f) Maintains efficient filing and record keeping system for the assigned project areas.
g) Coordinates with other contractors’ engineers as well as consultants’ engineers on all matters related to project works.
h) Coordinates with other Plant personnel for performance of the assigned inspection work.
i) Ensures cleanliness of project premises at all times. Instructs contractors accordingly and reports any violations to his supervisor.
j) Reviews the various work activities of assigned supervisor(s) and provides the required technical guidance and work directives as required.
k) Trains, educates, and indoctrinates assigned supervisor(s) for job efficiency and safety.
l) Ensures the proper operating condition and efficient utilization of assigned equipment and tools to perform the required inspection works. Initiates material requisitions and coordinates for receiving the materials, tools and equipment required by the team
m) Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed by his supervisor

| Work Contacts : |
Regular contacts with Plant personnel up to Division Head level.
Regular contacts with contractors’ personnel.
Regular contacts with consultants’ personnel.

| Independence of Operation : |
Reports to Chief Engineer, Civil.
Works according to specialized professional standards and ordinary administrative procedures.
Completed work assignments are reviewed by Chief Engineer, Civil.

| Physical Effort : |
Moderate physical exertion while supervising and inspecting construction work.
|
| Work Environment : |
Subject to work requirements, average 70% exposed to prevailing weather conditions and 30% in AC environment.
|
| Supervisory Responsibility : |
Supervises::
Civil Supervisor(s) and other subordinates as may be assigned.
|
| Minimum Requirements : |
a) Completion of University education in Civil Engineering.
b) 6 years experience in supervising heavy industrial civil/structural construction projects, preferably cement plants.
c) Fluency in the English language.
d) Good knowledge of MS Office applications, knowledge of AutoCAD desirable.
d) SAG driving license.
