Inventory Specialist, Materials Supply, Material Control, Inventory Control and Stock Records:: MEPA has been retained by a leading Global scale Cement company in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia having two manufacturing plants located 100 km from King Abdul Aziz Port at Dammam, Saudi Arabia to identify Inventory Specialist.

| Basic Function : |
Reviews, monitors & controls material stocks. Initiates purchase/replenishment requisitions, prepares necessary reports as instructed, directs & overseas all related clerical work, coordinates with user, Buyers, Expeditors, etc., to ensure material availability on time.

| Duties Performed: |
a) Receives and processes all material requisitions from user departments.
b) Supervises checking of stocks and preparation of issue notes.
c) Monitors and investigates any large variations in consumption pattern of various materials and advises Supervisor.
d) Coordinates with user departments/divisions/sections and reviews/investigates their material requirements and approves or recommends for approval to Supervisor.
e) Prepares Purchase Requisitions for items not held in stock as well as for stock replenishments and presents for processing by Section Head.
f) Reviews and monitors inventory position regularly and systematically from manual and computer reports for any replenishments on a timely basis.
g) Prepares urgent requirements report for Section Supervisor periodically as instructed.
h) Monitors status of each requisition/item on order and follows up closely with Buyers on urgent items on a regular basis.
i) Informs users about arrival of items on urgent requisitions and alerts respective Warehouse Officers on arrival of major bulk materials.
j) Receives copies of discrepancy reports and follows up with Delivery and Shipping Controller for settlement.
k) Monitors performance/quality of materials supplied on long term basis by liaising with the users and maintains appropriate records & reports and keeps Supervisor informed.
l) Ensures proper use and maintenance of and access to the library microfiche reader and CRT terminal facilities by all concerned.
m) Handles petty cash fund.
n) Arranges dispatch of samples to assist purchasing action when necessary and follows up for safe return of returnable samples.
0) Performs other miscellaneous related duties as directed by Officer, Inventory Control and Stock Records Sec.

| Work Contacts : |
Has regular contacts with personnel mainly of a similar or higher level from user departments for clarification of specifications, verification of requirements, determining urgency of requirement, communicating delivery/arrival information and obtaining feedback on performance of materials supplied.
Also has regular contacts with Buyers, Warehouse & Materials Inspection personnel for work coordination & communication of information.

| Independence of Operation : |
Reports to Officer, Inventory Control & Stock Records Sec.
Works according to established policies, procedures & systems.
Completed work is subject to review & direction. Assists supervisor with reports, data and information as and when required.

| Physical Effort : |
Visiting storage, user & plant locations for investigations & data collection. Involves walking standing, lifting, etc., for at least 15% of the working time.
|
| Work Environment : |
Normally works in assigned air conditioned office but occasionally in nonair conditioned environment exposed to prevailing weather conditions for at least 15% of the working time.

| Minimum Requirements : |
a) Junior College education preferably in a technical field.
b) Good knowledge of English.
c) Minimum 5 years experience in Inventory Control.
d) Knowledge of machinery, equipment, spare parts and computerized operation highly desirable.
e) Experience in operating keyboard/computer terminal required.
