Company :

Engineer -Refractory Section:: MEPA has been retained by a leading Global scale Cement company in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia having two manufacturing plants located 100 km from King Abdul Aziz Port at Dammam, Saudi Arabia to identify Engineer -Refractory Section

Basic Function:

Performs and directs detailed and comprehensive engineering studies to evaluate the efficiency refractory brick lining in the various kiln zones and makes recommendations on methods, procedures, and modifications for increasing such efficiencies and reducing costs. Inspects maintenance and repair activities of assigned personnel on all types of refractory brick lining works and implements approved proposals for improvements on Maintenance techniques to achieve higher productivity.

Duties Performed:

a) Supervises, directs and coordinates the activities of personnel assigned to Civil Section to ensure the smooth and safe performance of the assigned work. Performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Section Head level as established by management.

b) Ensures the proper operating condition and efficient utilization of assigned equipment, tools and manpower to perform the required maintenance related to refractory brick lining at the company's plants at Ain Dar and Hofuf. Initiates material requisitions and coordinates for receiving materials required for performing maintenance jobs for the Section.

c) Develops, conducts and evaluates engineering studies associated maintaining and repairing refractory brick lining for improving efficiency and standards and reducing costs. Prepares designs and plans for approved modifications of refractory brick lining work.

d) Formulates detailed work plans for the maintenance and repair of all civil structures and installations and refractory brick lining and presents the same for approval by Civil Department Manager and implements all approved plans and proposals related to the assigned Section.

e) Discusses, coordinates and resolves problems in assigned Section with personnel throughout the Department and, on occasion with operating personnel to ensure that performance and specifications of refractory brick lining works and jobs are consistent with the established standards.

f) Analyzes data, designs and performance of new and/or existing refractory brick linings work in terms of refractory types and to determine the need for modification with respect to utilization efficiency and consistency with established safety standards.

g) Inspects and reviews the various work activities of assigned personnel and provides the required technical guidance and work directives to respective personnel as required.

h) Ensures the efficient maintenance, inspection and repair of all refractory brick lining work both in terms of quality and quantity. Prepares Comprehensive and timely reports of preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, utilization of manpower and materials, on-the-job accidents and injuries, cost control, and other reports related to Refractory Section.

i) Trains, educates, and indoctrinates new and existing personnel in the Section for job efficiency and safety.

j) Forecasts the Section's material requirements needed for performing assigned maintenance jobs in coordination with respective Production Department personnel and initiates appropriate and timely documentation required by Materials Supply Department for the procurement of the items. Coordinates and follows up with Materials Supply Department for the timely receipt of material requirements.

k) Performs other miscellaneous related duties as directed by Manager, Civil Department.

Desired Age Range:



35 - 40 Years of age

Desired Experience Range:

No less than 5 to 8 years in a similar position for a major cement company. Experience in various related work assignments in the cement industry will be an added advantage.

Personality:

Pleasant / Strong / Persuasive / Self-Confident Communication Skills: Fluent and persuasive in making his case verbally and in writing through preparation of effective presentations. Must be able to effectively communicate with various levels of various nationalities within the organization.

Outward Appearance:



Neat and well dressed to make a positive influence on others from first sight.

Computer knowledge:



Power user of all Microsoft Office Applications and effective user of MS Project. Experience in using and analyzing information derived from computerized plant maintenance and operations applications will be a definite advantage.

Analytical skills:



Effective analytical skills with ability to relate several related factors / criteria and their possible impacts.

Minimum Requirements:



a) Completion of University education in Civil Engineering.

b) 6 years experience in supervising civil maintenance work, preferably at a cement plant.

c) Very good knowledge of English.
