Heading the technology function for the circle. This involves being responsible for the sustenance and growth of a state-of-the-art network currently handling more than 300,000 subscribers, and providing a host of features, from SMS to email to the soon to be introduced WAP facility. You would be specifically responsible for - Identifying and evaluating new technologies and implementing them, Managing network performance, interacting with international and domestic operators, vendors and consultants, Budgeting and reviewing costs of network operation and expansion and providing Information technology support. As a member of the top management team of the company, you would be a key representative on all the top management committees.

A minimum of 15 years of post qualification experience. Must have direct, core GSM technology experience, both at a hands-on level, as well as from a large scale managerial perspective. You should have worked in a top level technical role, either in a GSM service company having a complex network, in India or overseas, or in a similar role with a global GSM infrastructure technology vendor. Exposure to all the components of the GSM network would be essential. Sound technical expertise and an awareness of the future direction of mobile telecom technology and the imperatives of Convergence of technologies will be required.
